National Tree Day plant giveaway – Inner West
Connect with nature for National Tree Day 2022
National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. Each year, about 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them.
The Inner West is home to native wildlife including threatened species like Powerful Owl, Grey Headed Flying-fox, and two species of microbats – the Large Bent-winged Bat and Southern Myotis (also known as the Fishing Bat!). Native animals need plants for food and shelter.
Council is giving away three (3) local native plants to help residents bring nature to their backyards, courtyards or balconies.
BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL – book a collection time that suits you when selecting your ticket.
See Councils Nature for Backyards guide for how to use local native plants on your property.
